Slow Cooked Beans

Preparing and cooking might take a long time, but these beans are a must-try. This dish may not be as authentic, but it can bring a homey feeling, and it does not require that much effort to cook; you’ll just need to place all the ingredients in a pot and let it simmer for 8 hrs before it’s time to serve. Just a quick reminder, skip the soaking process and use flavorings to infuse and bring out the best flavor of the beans. Invite everyone over, and We hope you’ll have fun trying this recipe.



Ingredients:

½ lb dry pinto beans

½ lb black beans

1 tbsp dry cilantro

4 tbsp butter

1 7oz can of diced green chilies

1 tsp salt and pepper

1 tbsp granulated garlic

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp chipotle chili powder

1 tbsp chili powder

4 tbsp chicken bullion

1 tbsp onion powder

½ red onion, diced

Fresh lime

8 cups water


Instructions:

  1. Place the pinto and black beans in a large colander and thoroughly rinse them.

  2. Transfer the beans to a large pot or slow cooker and add dry cilantro, butter, and green chilies.

  3. Season it with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, dried oregano, chipotle chili powder, chili powder, and chicken bullion.

  4. Lastly, add diced red onion and water. Squeeze fresh lime and Tobasco for additional flavor and spice.

  5. Simmer for about eight hrs. Serve while still hot. Enjoy!
